A<\/span><\/strong><span dir=\"auto\">&nbsp;small, fur\u00adry court that seems straight out of a movie: The&nbsp;<\/span><em><span dir=\"auto\">Aris\u00adto\u00adcats of Fur\u00adlot\u00adti. They did\u00adn\u2019t<\/span><\/em><span dir=\"auto\">&nbsp;arrive by design or mar\u00adket\u00ading. They arrived because the land, when it\u2019s alive,&nbsp;<\/span><strong><span dir=\"auto\">attracts<\/span><\/strong><span dir=\"auto\">&nbsp;life .<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em><span dir=\"auto\">Where there is life, more life appears.<\/span><\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h2><strong><span dir=\"auto\">How it all began<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span dir=\"auto\">It all started\u2014as these sto\u00adries often do\u2014by acci\u00addent.<\/span><br>\n<span dir=\"auto\">A pair of wild cats took up res\u00adi\u00addence at the back of the cel\u00adlar.<\/span><br>\n<span dir=\"auto\">And before we knew it,&nbsp;<\/span><strong><span dir=\"auto\">there was a whole fam\u00adi\u00adly&nbsp;<\/span><\/strong><span dir=\"auto\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span dir=\"auto\">That\u2019s where a key deci\u00adsion emerged:<\/span><br>\n<span dir=\"auto\">not to look the oth\u00ader way.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span dir=\"auto\">For an entire month, with patience and per\u00adse\u00adver\u00adance, they were caught&nbsp;<\/span><strong><span dir=\"auto\">one by one<\/span><\/strong><span dir=\"auto\">&nbsp;so they could be&nbsp;<\/span><strong><span dir=\"auto\">cas\u00adtrat\u00aded.&nbsp;<\/span><\/strong><span dir=\"auto\">With\u00adout vio\u00adlence. With\u00adout rush\u00ading. With respon\u00adsi\u00adbil\u00adi\u00adty.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em><span dir=\"auto\">Car\u00ading also means tak\u00ading respon\u00adsi\u00adbil\u00adi\u00adty.<\/span><\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h2><\/h2>\n<h2><strong><span dir=\"auto\">The ingenuity behind the rescue<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span dir=\"auto\">In every good sto\u00adry, there\u2019s some\u00adone who solves the prob\u00adlem. Here, it was&nbsp;<\/span><strong><span dir=\"auto\">Emilio<\/span><\/strong><span dir=\"auto\">&nbsp;, the cre\u00adator of the cage. He had orig\u00adi\u00adnal\u00adly built it to trap a fox that was eat\u00ading the chick\u00adens. (The fox, of course,&nbsp;<\/span><strong><span dir=\"auto\">nev\u00ader fell for it<\/span><\/strong><span dir=\"auto\">&nbsp;.) But that same cage end\u00aded up serv\u00ading a much more impor\u00adtant pur\u00adpose:<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em><span dir=\"auto\">Take care of life.<\/span><\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span dir=\"auto\">Today, all nine cats are neutered, healthy, calm, and at peace. There is no uncon\u00adtrolled repro\u00adduc\u00adtion. There is no suf\u00adfer\u00ading. And the cel\u00adlar remains rat-free thanks to them.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span dir=\"auto\">Nat\u00adur\u00adal pest con\u00adtrol,<\/span><\/strong><span dir=\"auto\">&nbsp;cour\u00adtesy&nbsp;of nature\u2026 and human inge\u00adnu\u00adity.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><\/h2>\n<h2><strong><span dir=\"auto\">More than cats: a way of being in the world<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span dir=\"auto\">This sto\u00adry isn\u2019t just about cats. It\u2019s about&nbsp;<\/span><strong><span dir=\"auto\">how deci\u00adsions are made.<\/span><\/strong><span dir=\"auto\">&nbsp;At Famil\u00adia Fur\u00adlot\u00adti, we believe that the land isn\u2019t some\u00adthing to be owned.
