Vista del viñedo y los jardines de Finca Adalgisa en Chacras de Coria, Mendoza

The beginning of Finca Adalgisa

In short:

  • The story of how Finca Adalgisa was born, without a prior plan, in the year 2000.
  • Driven by intuition, love, and a deep impulse to preserve a living place.
  • Because, without knowing it, that gesture made it possible to save a farm, a vineyard and a family legacy.

A story that didn’t come from a plan

Finca Adalgisa was born in the year 2000. And it was born without knowing. Like many important things in life.

It is born from an innate sense of preservation, from love —without yet knowing that we loved— and from legacy, without yet knowing that we had it.

Finca Adalgisa wasn’t born from a plan. It was born from an intuition.

There was no business plan.
There was no experience in the hotel industry.
There was no tourism in Mendoza as we know it today, not even international tourists.

And yet, Adalgisa was born.

Preserve before produce

The initial idea was simple: to preserve the estate, the space, the place. To not lose it. To keep it alive.

With encouragement from my grandmother and financial support from my mother, something began without us knowing where we were going. It was born from the spirit of youth: the unawareness of danger, the lack of fear of failure, the desire to create.

And also —why not say it— he was born by luck.

Learning by watching

In 2002 we opened our doors to our first guests. Nothing was like it is today. Everything was a learning experience.

Learning by observing, traveling, looking at other places and adapting ideas to our scale.

I remember trips that left a mark on me. Africa, where I discovered a tourism industry that didn’t yet exist in Mendoza. Ecuador, where I saw a small hotel with minimal infrastructure and abundant greenery.

There I understood something I already carried inside: the value of the lived landscape.

The landscape is not something you look at. You experience it.

Twenty years later: from the green of childhood to legacy

The green was always there. I grew up among farms, animals, chickens, and flowers. My grandmother had chickens. Today I have chickens.

I lived with real smells, real tastes, and real seasons. That childhood—far from television, technology, and the fast-paced world—gave me something fundamental: observation and creativity.

That’s why Adalgisa grew up with me and with tourism in Mendoza.

Constant evolution

We invested, reinvested, and improved. We learned to listen to nature, to respect its rhythms, to care.

Finally, more than twenty years later, I understand something important. That same strength that allowed this estate to be preserved is what drives me to continue upholding a family legacy.

Searching makes finding possible.

Finca Adalgisa wasn’t born from a plan. It was born from an intuition. And it’s still alive for that very reason.

If you’re interested in discovering how family history, the vineyard, and wine intertwine in this place, we invite you to continue reading our blog.
